Tuesday December 14th

Long chat with Mary yesterday - she sounds great!  May go home by the end of the week.
She is up and walking regularly and eating well.
She wants to start braiding again and has asked that Kate bring everything to the hospital so she can work on it.
Feel free to call her cell phone, she really needs to hear from each of us and appreciates having someone to talk to.

Sunday

Its tough to get to Mary today.  With 17 inches of snow yesterday and brutal cold today, the roads are icey and hard to drive on.
Chad has been there - all is good. Kate is waiting to get plowed out.
As I watch the girls being pulled in a sled outside and the extreme amount of fun they are having, I am grateful for everything that is so good in our lives.  Mary is on her way back to us and that will make for such a better holiday!  Can't wait to see her again!

Mary is back on FB!

Mary actually played two moves in Lexulous today!!!

Had the chance to talk to her tonight and she sounds so much better!

Pretty soon I will have my friend back to our daily calls and constant games.

The girls are planning her Christmas gifts and we already have one.  Mary, if you
see this, even Talia will not tell you what they are!  :)

From Kate - Saturday December 11

Mom has a fever today it is 101.2, they gave her Tylenol and are going
to see if the can get her antibiotics extended. She was super chatty
last night but is a bit more tired today. They Changed out her drain
bag and it is yellow instead of red, they put in a new drain on her
back too and changed where her IV was. So she was poked and proded all
night long no wonder she is tired. Chad and I braved the snow storm.
They still say she is progressing well. Her viospasm numbers were up a
little yesterday but still low, I have not heard today's numbers. The
Dr. said that maybe late next week she could be coming home depending
on how things go.

A great day for Mary - we are shooting for home by Christmas!!!

Friday

Mary is no longer considered an ICU patient!!!!  She is in the same room, but tested less frequently!
This is a great sign of her growing strength!
Hopefully fewer interruptions also help with her ability to get rest which is so important for her right now.
Kate, Rich and Chad are there caring for her and making sure she is eating and walking around.
Next step: remove spinal drain and then home.

Keep going Mary!
